Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra vocalists Abdul Jabbar, Anwar Uddin Khan, Ustad AH Motaleb, Ustad Ravi Roy, Ustad Ibrahim Hossain, Ustad AH Quader, Nargis Parveen, Farida Parveen, Khalid Hossain, Timir Nandi, Sufia Monoar, Milton Khandkar, Ratan Khandkar ,S.I.Tutul and many other famous artists have added a new dimension the cultural milieu of Bangladesh. Besides, the contribution of the late Baul artists - Makshed Ali Sai, Mohin Shah, Khoda Bakhsh Shah, A. Karim Shah in making the music of Baul Emperor Fakir Lalon Shah popular is immense. Film stars including Sujata, Raju Ahmed, Ahmed Sharif, Afroza Banu, Salauddin Lavlu, Manoj Sen Gupta, Azam Shantanu, Masum Reza, Ferdous Hasan and Bonya Mirza were born in the holy land of Kushtia.
