Cultural Arena of Kushtia
Awash with the Padma and the Gorai, Kushtia, known as the cultural capital, has been glorified by the footprints of many great people including world Poet Rabindranath Tagore, Baul Emperor Fakir Lalon Shah, Gagan Harkara, Mir Mosharraf Hossain, the author of the time-honored historical novel Bishad Sindhu, Poet Azizur Rahman, revolutionary Bagha Jatin, Kangal Harinath Majumdar, Kazi Miazan, the leader of the Wahhabi movement.  Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra vocalists Abdul Jabbar, Anwar Uddin Khan, Ustad AH Motaleb, Ustad Ravi Roy, Ustad Ibrahim Hossain, Ustad AH Quader, Nargis Parveen, Farida Parveen, Khalid Hossain, Timir Nandi, Sufia Monoar, Milton Khandkar, Ratan Khandkar ,S.I.Tutul and many other famous artists have added a new dimension the cultural milieu of Bangladesh.  Besides, the contribution of the late Baul artists - Makshed Ali Sai, Mohin Shah, Khoda Bakhsh Shah, A. Karim Shah in making the music of Baul Emperor Fakir Lalon Shah popular is immense. Film stars including Sujata, Raju Ahmed, Ahmed Sharif, Afroza Banu, Salauddin Lavlu, Manoj Sen Gupta, Azam Shantanu, Masum Reza, Ferdous Hasan and Bonya Mirza were born in the holy land of Kushtia.
District Shilpakala Academy, Shishu Academy and various cultural organizations are making relentless efforts to expedite  art, literature and culture of Kushtia.
