Details
At the beginning of the nineteenth century, dramas were staged in various places of Kushtia district. It was then that a permanent theater was built in the district. It was named Parimal Theater after the son of the then Kushtia Sub-Divisional Ruler. Famous Kolkata actors Pramtesh Barua, Durga Das, Shishir Bhaduri, Angurbala, Indubala etc. came here many times. It was here in 1912 that the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was welcomed by the crowd.
